Woodland Hills Ranch Home

  • About the project
    Los Angeles, CA

This Southern California traditional ranch home desperately needed some TLC. After years of slowly updating the residence by piecemeal, the owners finally took the plunge and updated the home in its entirety.

Now empty nesters, the owners wanted a beautiful home that welcomed some clean lines and modern pieces to accent the cottage feel and more timeless elements of the space. After years spent collecting both fun Ebay finds and worthy vintage pieces, we designed the spaces to both integrate and showcase their collectibles – antique mirrors, china, ironstone, quirky objects and art. Fresh and fun colors were introduced to enliven all of the spaces. Soft linens, fresh floral patterns, subtle metallics, and ample lighting revive the interiors. The 70’s jumbo rock fireplace was replaced with a beautiful silver travertine herringbone pattern, while the bathrooms and guest bedroom were updated to welcome guests with the feeling of a boutique hotel.

Previously the owners wouldn’t even enter their dining room, living room or sunroom. Now their favorite part of the day is curling up on their cozy sofa and watching the rooms sparkle while they read or entertain. This homely ranch turned into a lovely jewel box that is a true reflection of its owners and their relaxed sensibilities.
